But when a trees is diseased or broken,we must to remove it to safe position when it danger pedestrian or structure.If the tree is only leans toward a road or structure in our garden,we'd better rope the tree off to help guide it in the right direction.So it is better for us to learn some cutting and ropping techniques,it can help us to keep away danger when remove or guide the tree.

1, Check the lean of the tree,and judge the direction the tree will fall when cut.

2, Tie one rope around the tree just above the position you will cut with a clove knot.Tie a clove knot by wrapping the free end of a rope around the tree trunk once,bring the end of the rope back around the tree so that the free end is under the wrapped portion of rope.Bring the end around the tree one more time,crossing over the first circle of rope and bring the end through the eye of the second turn to tighten the knot.

3,Creat one undercut in the direction you want the tree fall.Take your handle saw or turn on your chainsaw and cut 1/3" of way through the trunk in a straight line,make a second cut above it at 45 degree angle,meeting the end of the first cut.These cuts creat a wedge that can be removed from the trunk.

4,Cut from the back of the tree on the opposite side of undercut,about 10cm above the undercut,cut through the tree until the begin to fall.

5,Pull on the rope to help guide the tree during the fall,and make it fall at the position you wish.It is a successful work.
